To join, complete the membership application for your level of membership.
- Full Member – $50 per year
- Any individual possessing a PhD, MD, JD, DVM (or equivalent doctorate degree), any individual possessing a Master’s Degree (MS or MA) and three (3) years relevant work experience in forensic medicine, or any individual possessing professional industry certification and five (5) years relevant work experience in forensic medicine. Such certifications may include Certified Crime Scene Investigator, Certified Crime Scene Analyst, Certified Senior Crime Scene Analyst, or other equivalent certifications. Full members must submit a completed application for membership and a copy of their most recent resume or curriculum vitae (CV).
- Associate Member – $50 per year
- Any individual maintaining employment in a position that involves forensic death investigation or is related to forensic medicine. Such positions may include Medicolegal Death Investigator, Autopsy Technician, Crime Scene Investigator, Homicide Investigator, Detective, and Forensic Science Educator. Associate members must submit a completed application for membership and a copy of their most recent resume or curriculum vitae (CV).
- Matriculation from Associate Member to Full Member
- An Associate Member who has been an active member in good standing for three (3) years and has attended at least two (2) IFMA annual conferences is eligible for Full Membership in the absence of other qualifying criteria.
- Student Member – $25 per year
- Any student meeting full-time student status at any accredited, degree-awarding college or university or having graduated within the last 2 years. Student member applicants must submit a completed application for membership and a copy of their most recent transcripts. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable provided they include identifying information for the applicant.
